The 28th Annual St. Charles Scarecrow Fest is October 5-7, 2012
For over 25 years, tens of thousands of people have visited St Charles IL to attend the Scarecrow Fest. Over 100 hand-crafted scarecrows are at the heart of the festival, from charmingly simple figures created by Brownie Scout troops to elaborate mechanical displays built by local businesses.
Competition is friendly but fierce: attendees vote for their favorites in categories like “Mechanical” and “Family”.
In addition to the Scarecrow Contest Display, there are many other events to enjoy.
Performances There are two stages for live performances from musicians and dancers.
Carnival There are cute rides for the little kids and fast-moving rides for the thrill-seekers. Carnival hours are Thursday 6:00pm – 10:00pm, Friday and Saturday 11:00am – 10:00pm, Sunday 11:00am – 6:00pm.
Autumn on the Fox Art and Crafts Show Located in Pottawatomie Park on the east side of the river, this show has over 170 artisans and craftspeople who display and sell beautiful jewelry, paintings, metal art, photography, and specialty food items. Get some Christmas shopping done here! Friday and Saturday 9:00 – 5:00, Sunday 9:00-4:00.
