St. Charles has some of the nicest parks and best recreation programs in the entire Chicago area. The St. Charles Park District manages dozens of parks, from small neighborhood play lots to the amazing new Otter Cove Aquatic Park. One of the most loved parks in the area is Pottawatomie Park on the west side of the Fox River.
Pottawatomie Park: Located on the east side of the Fox River this 92 acre park is simply wonderful.

The Pottawatomie Community Center is home to a wide variety of sports and recreation programs. The dance program is home to the Babes in Ballet program where hundreds of children learn their plies and then dance in a professional quality program at the end of every year. The pre-school offers year round programs for children aged 3 to 6. The Adult Activity Center is always buzzing with energy with energy with programs for local seniors.
The Paddleboats run throughout the summer for boat excursions up and down the Fox River. The boat tours last about 1 1/2 hours and are a great way to enjoy the wildlife and scenery along the river.
The beautifully designed and maintained 9-hole golf course dates back to the 1930s. The course was ranked in the top 20 9-hole courses by Golf Magazine.
