Elburn is located in Kane County, about 46 miles west of Chicago. Founded in 1881, the Village of Elburn is a growing suburb of close to 5,000 residents.

Although maintaining a sense of a small community is the foundation on which Elburn is built, the Village is increasingly being recognized as a rapidly growing suburb focused on smart growth principles.
